They Seem Hungry to Get Better – 2018 LB Mataafa

It has been a busy month for 3-star linebacker Andrew Mataafa, as his recruitment has really been picking up as of late, with a new offer coming in almost every other day.

Fresno State was his sixth overall offer that he received back on May 17th and that list has now grown to double-digits.

But with an offer from an in-state program, Mataafa sees what Fresno State and the new staff is trying to do.

“I am very humbled to get offered by Fresno State, every opportunity I’ll take,” he said. “I called the Fresno State linebackers coach and that is how I got the news.”

“They seem very hungry to get better and to grow and progress.”

Right now, he is being recruited as an outside linebacker by Coach Watts. Since his offer though from the Bulldogs, he has also added Boise State, Utah, Utah State, Navy, and Wyoming, to go along with Army, Hawaii, Oregon State, Virginia, and Washington State.

Mataafa has yet to visit Fresno State but admits that the Bulldogs has his attention and would be one of the schools that he would like to visit and learn more about. Right now though, he is hoping and looking for a school that is willing to grind and push him to the next level as a player, one that will make him better overall.
