Fresno State ranked 28

The second Rivals.com preseason top-25 poll was released this week and Fresno State came in at #28 in the poll. They are the only team from the WAC that received any votes and came in ahead of Arizona, Arizona State and Tennessee just to name a few.
Fresno State has 18 returning starters in 2006, including four all-WAC performers. Center Kyle Young and wide receiver Paul Williams are the headliners on offense while Dwayne Andrews and Marcus McCauley lead the defense.

Fresno State finished 8-5 in 2005 and tied for third place in conference play. The Bulldogs had a tremendous start to the season but dropped the final four games of the season, including a 31-24 loss to Tulsa in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on New Year's Eve.
Ohio State is the top-ranked team in the poll followed by Notre Dame, USC, LSU and Texas to round out the top-5. The top-10 is as follows:

2. Notre Dame
3. USC
4. LSU
5. Texas
6. West Virginia
7. Auburn
8. Oklahoma
9. Florida
10. Miami
