Darrell Fuery is the third Bulldog commit of the weekend

This weekend Gardena (Calif.) Serra wide receiver Darrell Fuery was one of a trio of prospects that officially visited Fresno State and committed on that visit.
"My visit went real good, I felt like I was at home," Fuery said about his trip to Fresno. "They treated me well, the coaches were cool, the food was good, the people were nice and I really think I can fit into their offense so that is why I committed there.

"The best part of the visit was probably the food and hanging out with my hosts [wide receivers Justin Johnson and Isaiah Burse]. They made me feel like a brother."
Fuery was recruited hard by wide receivers coach Ron Antoine and was part of a three player package deal that included linebacker Robert Stanley and receiver Delvon Hardaway.
"We all ended up committing on that same day," Fuery said. "Delvon committed first, I committed second and Stanley committed last.
"I committed at breakfast that Sunday morning. Coach [Tim] DeRuyter asked me if I wanted to be a Bulldog and I told him, 'Of course.' That's how that went."
Hardaway and Fuery are both receivers from Southern California, but their paths had not crossed on the gridiron before.
"We have not played each other at football," he said. "I knew of him, but I never really hung out with him. But we talked on the visit and we are real cool and I have his number now. We both plan to go up there and compete."
Fuery comes from a long line of talented Serra receivers including Robert Woods, George Farmer, Marqise Lee and Paul Richardson.
"At Serra my coach Chuck Kimbell he is one of the best receivers coaches. He is on me hard every day and makes sure I get extra reps in. Watching Marqise and Woody at practice every day made me more hungry."
Fuery describes the kind of receiver the Bulldogs are getting.
"I am a hard worker. I am a receiver with good speed, good hands and I get out of my breaks pretty quick."
He is scheduled to graduate in June and attend summer classes at Fresno State after that. He credited his parents and God for helping him with his college decision.
