Fisher plans official visits

Compton (Calif.) three-star corner Denzel Fisher isn't ready to put out a list of top schools, but he's naming a few leaders.

"I'm not going to narrow down my choices for another month," Fisher said. "But right now my top two schools are Washington State and Utah."

He believes that both institutions are nearly perfect for him.

"I like everything about those schools. The academics are great, they both have my major, which is kinesiology, and I like their football programs. They both have histories of being high in the rankings."

Although those two programs stand out to him, Fisher won't choose a college right away. He'll take all five official visits, three of which are all ready set.

"I'll visit Utah on October 12th and I'll visit Washington State on September 20th. I'm going to visit Fresno State also, but I don't know which date yet. I'm going to have to do more research before I decide on my last two visits."

The Bulldogs are also among the star corner's top schools.

"Fresno State is one of my top choices," Fisher said. "If I had a top five right now, they would be in it. Their football team is one that's rising up and they have a great school. I also have a good friend going there named Delvon Hardaway. He tells me about the school and I feel like it could be an option when I go to college."

The Centennial High prospect is hoping to add some more offers before he has to make that top five.

"The two schools that I have my eye on are USC and UCLA, but they still haven't offered. USC asked me to come to the Rising Stars Camp, but I couldn't make it because of a family emergency. They said they'd offer if I went, but I wasn't able to go. I made it to UCLA though, and I balled out. I had an interception return for eighty yards, so I'm just waiting for an offer from them."

Everything is fine now for Fisher and his family, so it's back to football. He just has one more summer event to attend, which begins on Friday.

"I'm going to the B2G camp at UCLA and then I think I'm done until the start of the season."

It's not much of a break from all the craziness that surrounds recruiting, but it's probably a necessary one.
