Carr, Ellis and Saenz

Quarterback Myles Carr has joined the Bulldog football family, signing National Letter of Intent with Fresno State. Carr is from Arcadia (Calif.) High School. (No relation to current Bulldog quarterback Derek Carr)
Carr Career Notes: Led Arcadia High School to back-to-back CIF playoff appearances and Pacific League Championships ... was the Pacific League Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 2,484 yards and 30 touchdowns against six interceptions as a senior ... a three-year starter at quarterback, he threw for 5,215 yards, 64 touchdowns against 20 interceptions and completed 64.4 percent of his passes during prep career ... named first-team All-CIF in 2011, was a two-time first-team All-Pacific League selection and was named to the 2011 Pasadena Star News All-Area first-team ... led team to a 9-3 record as a senior, completing 63.4 percent of his passes ... also rushed 49 times for 205 yards (4.1 average) and four touchdowns as a senior ... as a junior he threw for 1,872 yards and 26 touchdowns with only four interceptions ... completed 68.5 percent of his passes in 2010 during the regular season when he led the Apaches to their first league championship in six years ... completed 20-of-36 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in the playoffs during junior season ... threw for 859 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore when he split time as the starting quarterback with a senior


Jamal Ellis from East Valley High School (Riverside, Calif.) becomes the third defensive back to sign with Fresno State. Ellis is a 5-11, 170-pound cornerback.
Ellis Career Notes: First-team all-league and all-area selection as a senior ... helped lead East Valley High School to an 11-1 record and the Citrus Belt Conference Championship for the second-straight season ... posted 30 tackles as a senior with five interceptions, 114 yards on interception returns and 11 passes defended ... returned 15 punts for 268 yards (17.9 average) and nine kickoffs for 318 yards (35.3 average) ... as a junior he caught eight passes for 76 yards, returned 10 punts for an average of 12.7 yards and three kickoffs for a 22.3 average ... helped lead the Wildcats to a 8-3 record as a junior.


Mike Saenz, a 6-5, 295-pound offensive lineman is the 10th student-athlete to sign with the Bulldogs and the first junior college player. Saenz comes from Fullerton College and is originally from Whittier, Calif.
Saenz Career Notes: Second-team Southern Conference selection in the Southern California Football Association junior college ranks ... helped Fullerton College average 25 points and 320 yards of offense per game in 2011 ... redshirted during the 2010 season, but in 2009 he helped Fullerton College to a 10-2 record ... played two seasons of varsity football during prep career at La Serna High School ... led team to a 7-4 record as a junior and 10-2 mark as a senior ... garnered first-team All-CIF, all-area and all-league honors as a senior offensive lineman ... also played on the defensive line in high school ... as a track athlete, he competed in the discus and shot put events. Other Notes: His brother, Alan, played football at Montana from 2002-05.
